Tiny Treasures was designed by Liz Almond and the chart is a free download from Blackwork Journey. This is where I was up to last time.
Here’s where I’m up to now after filling the 4 empty boxes and adding 10 more flowers and borders.

About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

/ December 6, 2020This is getting so very long now Avis. Do you know how many more rows you need to do before you can happy dance. x
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020We’ve completed 7 rows out of 13 so we’re just past half way 🙂
stitchingranny
/ December 12, 2020This is going to be so long I do hope you can find a frame to fit lol xx
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 12, 2020If not, I’ll take it to the framers and they’ll frame it for me. Alternatively, I could make it into a wall hanger with a fabric backing.

/ December 6, 2020Oh my goodness, it’s so beautiful, I love the view of the full length so far. You are making a beautiful job of this. xx
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Thank you Jenny. I’m trying to decide whether to hang it vertically or horizontally as it’s going to be long.
Cathie J
/ December 6, 2020I didn’t realize how long this piece is. It is pretty.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Yes, we’re just over half way now so it’s long. There’s a square version of the chart available as well but we both chose the rectangular one this time.

Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Hi Carmela, I’ve just seen your beautiful sampler is now almost finished. Just the finishing touches and some back stitching to do. Maybe you’ll be Happy Dancing next time 🙂 Tiny Treasures has 13 rows of 4 boxes. I’ve completed 7 rows so far. There’s also a square design available but we both decided to do the rectangular one.

/ December 6, 2020Again beautiful stitchwork. I like both themes that you and Claire have decided on.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Thank you. I like both versions too 🙂

/ December 6, 2020This will be the most amazing dresser scarf if you choose to use it that way. There’s something so elegant about the simplicity of this, yet it is so intricate, quite the juxtaposition!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020I agree it would look lovely on a dresser. At the moment I’m thinking it’ll be hanging vertically on the wall. I’ve got the ideal place in the hallway. I’ll probably change my mind many times between now and the Happy Dance 🙂
kathyreeves
/ December 7, 2020I wondered if you might have a special place to hang it. It would require the right amount of space. 🙂

/ December 6, 2020When I saw that you’re just over the halfway mark I wondered whether you would turn this into a table runner. It’s gorgeous whatever you end up doing with it!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020I’m thinking about a vertical wall hanging. I’ve got the ideal bare wall in my hallway. time will tell. I could change my mind by then 🙂
Laura White
/ December 6, 2020This is a big sampler! Your stitching is lovely.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Thank you Laura. It should finish at just under 10 x 27 inches but I suppose I could stop before then if I chose to 🙂
anne54
/ December 6, 2020Half way, wow! It is going to be a beautiful creation that deserves to be hung and admired.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Yes, I think it’ll be going on the wall. Daylight hours are short at the moment so I’m doing more knitting than stitching but Spring is just around the corner. Wishful thinking 😉
Christina
/ December 6, 2020Amazed by your progress. Looking lovely!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 6, 2020Thank you. Claire is keeping me on track 😉

/ December 7, 2020Such a delicate pattern to stitch. You must have this on a stitching frame? I don’t see a wrinkle at all. 🙂
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 7, 2020That’s right. I just unwound it a bit to take the photos 🙂
rutigt
/ December 7, 2020Well done! Not much left now, is it? 🙂
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 7, 2020Another 6 rows of 4 boxes to go. Just over half done now.
rutigt
/ December 8, 2020I didn´t know it was so long (lång)! 🙂
craftycreeky
/ December 7, 2020It’s beautiful, very elegant too
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 7, 2020Thank you Margaret 🙂
Carole
/ December 7, 2020It’s gorgeous! Are you doing the boxes in a different order to Claire? I’m sure that bottom row is different, or is it just that the colours make it seem that way?
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 7, 2020I’ve mixed the boxes up and added to or changed most of them. The flowers in the borders are mostly just me taking the thread for a walk rather than working from the chart. I kept the outline but changed most of the insides. It happened because the thread I chose for the boxes wasn’t showing very well so I made the stitching more dense. Before I knew it I was changing everything. No wonder you see different designs 🙂
Carole
/ December 9, 2020Taking the thread for a walk is the most brilliant way to describe that! 🙂
Joanne P
/ December 9, 2020This is a beautiful design and will look amazing as a vertical wall hanging too.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 9, 2020Thank you Joanne 🙂
teamwilsun
/ December 10, 2020Thanks for unrolling it to show off all you’ve done — it’s glorious and I’m sure you’ll find the perfect spot for it.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ December 10, 2020I will 🙂
