I’m Happy Dancing today!
This is where I was up to last time. It was still rolled around the frame at the top so you can’t see the sky yet.
Here it is with all the back stitching done. It’s finished :-).
My sister bought me this kit for my birthday and I think she made a great choice. I’ve really enjoyed stitching it and its brought back many memories of wonderful holidays spent in the Scottish Highlands.
The back stitching on the thistles in the foreground was a nightmare to do so I ended up doing my own thing. It’s worked on 14 count aida but the back stitching on the chart was anywhere but in the holes. I’m very happy with how it turned out. I think if I’d tried to follow the chart for the thistle details I would’ve still been stitching now. I did intend to have it all framed in time for the Happy Dance but the shop is closed temporarily. I’ll get it done as soon as I can and let you see it then.
Some readers might remember Helen who is rejoining the group after a break. I’m looking forward to seeing which project she’s chosen to stitch along with us. Welcome back Helen!

About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.
