We did it! Join us next time….

Hi everyone,

Guess what day it is today…….it’s Happy Dance day!

At last we have a Happy Dance, me and Claire that is Smile. We’ve now finished Cirque des Cercles by Ink Circles. When we decided this was to be our next SAL project, there was a little doubt in my mind about whether we would ever finish it. However, it looks much more complicated than it really is and it turned out to be the perfect SAL project.

Ta-daaaaaa!

Stage 12

Me and Claire will be revealing our new SAL project next Sunday (28th) and we’ll also be keeping to our three weekly postings from now, along with Gun in Sweden, Jule in Germany and Kate in Australia who are all stitching along on their own lovely projects. Don’t forget to pop along to their blogs to see their progress so far. Just click on their names above. We are all posting some time today Smile.

If anyone else would like to join the SAL, maybe to finish a WIP or to start something new, just drop me an email and then all you need to do is post an update every three weeks on the same day as us, linking to the rest of the group and show some progress. It can be as little or as much progress as you wish but it must be some progress Winking smile. If you don’t have a blog but would love to join in, I’ll happily post a photo of your progress with my updates if you wish. My email address is at the right hand side of this page. You all know you have a project that doesn’t deserve to be left unfinished at the bottom of a drawer. It doesn’t even have to be cross stitch so you have absolutely no excuses. This is the way to get something finished. Go for it!

Now I’m off to choose threads for the next SAL and hopefully there’ll be lots of emails from all of you wanting to join in Smile.

Have a lovely day!

Cirque des Cercles Stage 7!

Happy weekend everyone!

Doesn’t time fly? Here we are again with another stage of the stitch-along. My stage 7 of Cirque des Cercles from Ink Circles is now complete.

Stage 7

You can also see Claire’s gorgeous version of the same design on her blog. We are stitching along together and we promised to show you updates every 3 weeks. The other two ladies in our group are stitching different projects. Gun is completing some beautiful flowers that she started some time ago but then didn’t complete and Jule is continuing with her lovely set of butterflies. If you click on their names you will see their progress so far.

Our next update is scheduled for 29th June as long as everyone is ready to post on that day Smile.

Cirque des Cercles Stage 6!

Happy weekend everyone,

Stage 6 of Ink Circle’s Cirque des Cercles is now complete. Although this is a large project, it is so enjoyable because the charts a really clear and there is a lot of symmetry in the designs. Once half, or sometimes one quarter, of a motif is finished you can just continue to stitch while reflecting the designs.

Stage 6

I’m stitching on a frame so I’m showing you the part I’ve just finished. If you want to see how much of the project has been done so far, pop over to Claire’s blog as she is stitching and revealing at the same pace as me but she’s showing all of it. I love the colours Claire is using and it’s nice for me to be able to see what mine will look like when it‘s taken off the frame. Gun, who is also stitching along to finish a completely different set of floral projects, is also posting an update today. I’m loving her blues and greens and I can’t wait to see how she plans to finish them. Will they be used together or in one panel? Only Gun knows the answer to that. You can check out her progress here.

Also, I have good news!! Jule, who writes the blog From the Boudoir, has also joined the SAL and is revealing her 2nd stage today. She is completing a series of butterflies. Jule is also tackling her UFO’s on her other blog in the order of them winning her UFO lottery. Her projects are complex, demanding, clever, intriguing…..well just gob-smacking really. You can admire them here.

The next update will be posted on 8th June 2014 as long as we are all ready to publish by then.

Cirque des Cercles Stage 5

Hi everyone,

I’m so pleased to show you my completed Stage 5 of Cirque des Cercles from Ink Circles. I hope you like it. It is amazing how addictive this one is to sew.

Stage 5_thumb[3]

My fabric is on a frame so I will show you the part that has just been stitched, plus as much as possible of the rest, every three weeks. I’m stitching along with Claire over at Claire93 and Gun at Rutigt. Yes, we have a new recruit Smile. I’ve admired Gun’s sewing since I started reading blogs. She is a master of colour and (I think) her speciality is bags and pouches. She just can’t stop making them, every size, shape and colour! Unfortunately, Izz at Isabel’s Needleworks is no longer able to continue stitching along with us as her eyes won’t allow her to concentrate for long periods on cross stitch. We miss her Sad smile but she is going to continue stitching her sampler, just at a slower pace. Claire is stitching the same design as me and Gun is stitching a lovely selection of florals. Why not pop over to take a look at their progress which will be posted sometime today?

Our next completed stage will be revealed on 18th May as long as we are all ready to post by then.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
