New England House – Winter etc.

Hello everyone,

Just a quickie to show you what I’ve been up to over the last few weeks. It’s the fourth New England House by Bothy Threads. Their kits are a dream to stitch. I found working with the three different shades of white quite challenging but it was worth it.

I’m really pleased with how Winter has turned out. The photos don’t do it justice because the snow has a bit of icy sparkle and there’s beads in the door wreath and on the garlands.

I’ve really enjoyed stitching this set. Here are the others in case you missed them earlier.

This one is SpringSpringHe comes SummerSummer 5This is FallFall

They are all being gifted to my sister. She loved the first one so much that I simply had to complete the set. I was supposed to be stitching them, one for each year but I couldn’t help myself.

What next I wonder? Will I return to the ABC Bears or something completely different? Maybe I should get on with the SAL project first or something new from the stash. I love to start new projects. So much choice!

Happy New Year 2017

Happy New Year everyone,

I was quite surprised when I looked back at all the mini finishes from 2016.Happy New Year 2017A lot of cross stitching has been going on and it’s given me many hours of pleasure.

These finished projects include two large SALs and a secret present which can now be revealed. If you want to see the posts relating to the individual finished items, click the photos on this page.

There is also a patchwork and quilting round up on my other blog Oh Sew Tempting.

Thank you to everyone who supported my blog last year, whether you’ve been reading anonymously in the background or actively liking, commenting and emailing. It’s nice to know I’m not talking to myself.

Keeping me out of trouble

Hello everyone,

You might remember that I stitched one of Bothy Threads New England Houses for my sister’s birthday last year. There’s one for each season and this one is Spring.

Spring

Well, she loved it and asked me to stitch the other three season’s houses for her next three birthdays. So, her present for 2016 was Fall. I wasn’t able to show it to you until her birthday had passed.

FallI’m now busy with Summer. It’s very easy to stitch and, as is usual with Bothy Threads kits, it’s very well put together with a clear chart and quality materials. No, I’m not getting paid for the review. I just love everything by Bothy Threads :-).

I did pick up winter to start 3rd but there’s a lot of white stitching and some sparkly thread in that one so I thought it would be better to wait until there’s some proper daylight. Anyway, Summer is growing really fast. I don’t think my sister will be waiting for another two birthdays before she has them all.
