Highlands Landscape – Stage 2

Happy New Year everyone!

Yes, it’s 2020 already. I won’t be making any New Year’s resolutions because I’ll fall at the first hurdle. I think I’ll just plod along and see what the new year brings. Hopefully there’ll be plenty of crafting time and then I’ll be very happy.

It’s time to show you an update on the Highlands Landscape. Here’s where I was up to last time.

It mostly consisted of diagonal stitches with a few full crosses thrown in for some texture on the clouds. I continued stitching one square at a time.

Stage 4 There were still lots of diagonals to stitch. That tree at the bottom left was a nightmare!

Stage 5It’s nice to see a bit more colour. There’ll be a tiny bit of backstitching to do on the top half but I’ve decided to do it all last. I may regret that decision.

Stage 6I’m going to start at the bottom left hand side again and see if I can complete another 3 small squares for next time. Maybe the cottages will make a full appearance.

We’ve got a new member joining the SAL from today. Her name is AJ and I can’t wait to see which project she’s chosen to stitch. Welcome to the group AJ.

About the SAL

This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL. If you’d like to finish a project you’ve left unfinished for a while, or start a new one with us, you can join us by sending me an email. The address is on the right of this page. I’ll send you a few simple rules to agree.
