It’s time for the final update on this SAL project. I finished stitching the Woodland Sampler by Anchor. The design number is PCE958.
This is where I was up to last time. The hedgehog was making an appearance.

I finished the hedgehog including all the backstitched prickles. It was a bit of a nightmare but I kept going because the finish line was in sight.

Here’s the whole picture.
I’m so pleased it’s finished. I must say a huge thank you to everyone in the SAL (and other commenters) because you’ve all been so encouraging. I don’t have WIPs as a rule but there were times when I didn’t feel like stitching this project any more. My sister must be tired of listening to me moaning about it but I can assure her it was a great choice of gift and I really do appreciate it. I love all the wild animals so it’s perfect. Somehow I don’t think she’ll be buying me another Anchor kit.
I must admit it’s been worth the effort. I love the finished picture. It’s with the framer as I write. I’ll be picking it up on Friday so I’ll share a photo in the next update.
What next? Well, it’s a project I’ve been wanting to do for ages and it’ll be so much easier to stitch than the Woodland Sampler. It’s completely different and a bit of a stash buster by choice. I’m looking forward to it.

About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

Sewing Beside the Sea
/ August 9, 2022Deciding where to hang it will be difficult. I recently realised I’d actually stopped seeing a lot of my pictures because they’ve been in the same place for years. I’m going to have a switch around and enjoy seeing them all again when I pick up this one.
