It’s time for another SAL project update. I’m stitching the Woodland Sampler by Anchor. The design number is PCE958.
This is where I was up to last time.

Here’s where I’m up to now.

I stitched the last half of the toadstool and across to the right. Did you guess who would be making an appearance this time? The hedgehog is the final animal in the design. There’s going to be more browns and prickles to do but I should be Happy Dancing on the next update. My mind is moving onto a new project already. Just got to get past the finish line first.
Cindy is taking a break from the SAL but she’ll be back soon. Please check out what everyone else has been up to by clicking their names below. We live all over the world so you may need to allow for time differences as we’re posting today at local time.
Avis, Claire, Gun, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny,

Our next updates will be posted on the 7th August 2022.
About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

/ July 17, 2022Ahh the little hedgehog – cute! You will dash past the finish post by next time I’m sure. Will you be getting it framed? I find choosing a frame difficult – trying to find one that doesn’t distract from the design.

/ July 17, 2022Yes, I’m going to try to finish quickly and get it framed in time for the next update. The framer will help me choose. I’m hopeless at that sort of thing.

/ July 17, 2022The hedge hog is quite cute and very popular at the moment but I am partial to the sweet ladybug. I actually have a bit of nice collection. Looking forward to dancing at our next posting 🙂

/ July 17, 2022Hedgehogs and foxes are nightly visitors to my garden so I do have a soft spot for them.

Sewing Beside the Sea
/ July 18, 2022He’s coming along fine. Somehow all the browns don’t seem so bad now that I can see the finish line.

/ July 18, 2022Mr. Hedgehog is a perfect ending to this piece!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ July 18, 2022I think so too! I’m pleased to be getting to the end.

/ July 18, 2022Of course there must be a hedgehog there! In Sweden they are not so many nowadays which is sad. Hedgehog in Swedish is igelkott (trying to learn you some Swedish if you wonder 🙂 ).
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ July 18, 2022I do like to see the Swedish words for the animals. The numbers of hedgehogs are reducing here every year too but not in my garden. We’ve got 3 regular visitors, I know one of them has been here for 2 years because he has a pale patch on his bottom 🙂

/ July 18, 2022That´s great! The only place in Sweden where they are not outnumbered is in the north!
