Woodland Sampler – Stage 17

It’s time for another SAL project update.  I’m stitching the Woodland Sampler by Anchor. The design number is PCE958.

This is where I was up to last time.

This is where I’m at now.

I’ve finished the butterfly in the top left and added lots of greenery and part of a stream. Also, the fawn now has hooves :-). I don’t look at the photo of the whole picture while I’m stitching and had to check when the piece of chart I was working on suggested stitching with scarlet thread at the bottom. I’d forgotten all about this splash of colour. It’s one of my favourite woodland finds that we don’t see here very often. Any ideas?

I’ll be working on a section to the right for next time. There’s more of the stream and the face of a very special and beautiful animal coming up.

Please check out what everyone else has been up to by clicking their names below. We live all over the world so you may need to allow for time differences as we’re posting today at local time.

About the SAL

Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

well done, Avis ^^ Disciplined as always and great progress! I really can’t stitch the way you do, stopping at the edge of a segment. I need to be able to see what’s coming next ^^

That looks like a mushroom emerging to me. I love that butterfly. You have done a lot of stitching these last 3 weeks.

  6. Beautiful as always. The new splash of colour, fly amanita perhaps?

  7. The red looks like a red and white spotted toadstool/mushroom. I bet the animal will be a hedgehog as you have already completed the fox! It is coming along and looks great.

    • Yes, a fly agaric. There is a hedgehog in the bottom right corner but he isn’t coming next. You won’t mistake it when you see it. Very distinctive.

  11. Beautiful and great progress. I see a mushroom emerging but am more intrigued to see who those ears belong to. Guess it will be a while before I find that out. x
