It’s time for another SAL update. Tiny Treasures was designed by Liz Almond and the original chart is a free download from Blackwork Journey. This is where I was up to last time.
Me and Claire agreed to finish the rest of the flowers and outer border this time. If you take a look at her opened out version you’ll see how big it is.
Just 8 boxes left to fill. I can feel a Happy Dance coming on!
Please check out what everyone else has been up to by clicking their names below. We live all over the world so you may need to allow for time differences. Posting takes place every third Sunday, local time. Our next updates will be posted on the 11th April 2021.

About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

/ March 21, 2021I am wondering how you will finish this Avis. It is going to cost an arm and a leg to have it framed. xx
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021I sometimes do my own framing but this time it might be finished as a wall-hanging, backed with fabric and a binding added. I still haven’t decided.

/ March 21, 2021It is lovely and as I just mentioned to Claire – the borders are gorgeous on their own. Happy Dance next time.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021The borders are my favourite part 🙂

Carole
/ March 21, 2021So close to that happy dance, and finding out what you’ll be doing next 🙂
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021The jury is out on what I’ll be doing next. I’ve had a look through my stash several times and pulled out something different each time. All I know is that I don’t want to start more than one stitching project so I’d better be sure of my choice 🙂

/ March 21, 2021How different it looks in the purple. Best of luck with the next three weeks’ stitching.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021I’m already well on the way to a finish. It’s been a long haul this one but very enjoyable to stitch 🙂

/ March 22, 2021Yes indeed! Such a beautiful project. I so enjoy comparing your color choices!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021I looked on Google Images for colour inspiration before I started stitching this and there’s very few photos. I would’ve thought more people would want to stitch it as it can easily be adapted to any size.
Renee
/ March 22, 2021This is lovely and getting so close to a finish. Lovely work!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021Yes, next time we’ll be happy dancing!

/ March 22, 2021Beautiful! This will be my next project as soon as I have figured out what color to use 🙂
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 22, 2021I think it would fab in any colourway. I almost chose to use up thread scraps but went with my beloved purple instead.

/ March 22, 2021This will be lovely when it is finished – just love all the intricate little shapes. The little tulips are gorgeous.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 23, 2021I think I’m going to miss stitching it when it’s finished. It’s been one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve done 🙂

/ March 23, 2021Beautiful work on your Blackwork. This is a wonderful way to make progress on a larger piece. Do you think you will be accepting new people at any point this year?
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 23, 2021Thank you Joanne 🙂 Thank you for your interest in the SAL. Unfortunately we won’t be taking any new members for the forseeable future.

/ March 25, 2021It is looking fantastic Avis. Can’t wait to see what you will decide to do with it when you have finished happy dancing!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 25, 2021I’m not sure what to do with it. It’ll go on the wall at some point but I don’t know whether I’ll frame it or make a wall hanging. No hurry 🙂

/ March 25, 2021Stunning do close to a finish
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 25, 2021Yes, we’re onto the home straight 🙂

/ March 25, 2021I’ve got that downloaded. I’ve done several of Ms Almond’s designs and have enjoyed them all. I love the simplicity of the blackwork. Designing some of my own at the moment, at least until I run out of graphing paper.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 25, 2021I downloaded the chart and changed quite a lot as I went along, just to make it original. I love anything geometric so this style appeals to me. I’ve also completed Pentecost 2 from the same site which you can find in the menu on the right of this page under Blackwork if you’re interested.
