It’s time for another SAL update. Just a quickie this time because I’ve still got the knitting bug.
Tiny Treasures was designed by Liz Almond and the original chart is a free download from Blackwork Journey. This is where I was up to last time.
Another four boxes and 5 flowers have been added.
Three rows of boxes to go. I’ve been trying to finish knitting a scarf before it gets too warm to wear it. Fat chance of that happening here soon! It’s still really cold and dark and wet, wet, wet! I’ve started a few seeds indoors and the seed potatoes have arrived but it’s far too wet for outdoor gardening at the moment.
Please check out what everyone else has been up to by clicking their names below. We live all over the world so you may stitch. need to allow for time differences. Posting takes place every third Sunday, local time. Our next updates will be posted on the 28th February 2021.

About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

/ February 7, 2021You always make such steady progress Avis, and there is no rush to finish it so just enjoy your knitting too. xx
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 8, 2021Yeah, I finished the scarf last night and cut out fabric for a sweatshirt this morning 🙂 Got to keep the grey matter busy 😉

/ February 7, 2021We have lots of cold dark and SNOW! 12+ inches last weekend and another 5-8 predicted for today. I so enjoy seeing each new row of boxes on Tiny Treasures. Enjoy your stitching and knitting!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 8, 2021Thank you Cathie 🙂 Rather you than me for snow. We’ve had a few flurries here but we’re on the cliffs so most snow is dropped on the sea.

Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 8, 2021Thanks Kathy. I think knitting has always been my favourite craft. It’s so portable compared to most other things I do.

/ February 7, 2021Steady progress and it looks so lovely. Would love a sneak peek at the scarf. Please post it when done 🙂
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 8, 2021Hi Sharon, I made a concious decision a few years ago to stop blogging altogether but was persuaded to keep going with the SAL so that’s the only posts I do now. I found keeping up with both blogs was taking up so much of my crafting time and I made a choice. However, the scarf pattern is so simple and so beautiful (in my opinion) that I will do a post to let everyone see, even if it’s just to point readers in the direction of the free pattern. The designer deserves credit 🙂
Renee

/ February 7, 2021I have been trying to work out how big this overall piece is going to be – it would make a lovely table runner.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 8, 2021I think it’s going to be about 11″ x 30″ but I’ll let you know when it’s finished and off the frame. Yes, a table runner would be great 🙂
wybrow1966
/ February 9, 2021It looks like a design you could add to should you need to.

/ February 7, 2021Knitting probably keeps you warmer than stitching 😂 Great progress nonetheless!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 8, 2021I always seem to knit more in the winter. It’s easier to do in the darker days than embroidery.
AJ

/ February 10, 2021I love the tiny hearts and the herringbone / arrow fletchings — always so much to look at in your projects! Cold, dark weather always makes me want to crochet and knit, but I’m really trying to stay focused! 🙂
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ February 10, 2021I now have no WIPs other than this blackwork woohoo! The scarf is finished 🙂 I’ll have to find something else to knit.
stitchingranny
/ March 2, 2021You and Claire always stitch at the same pace – is this co-incidence or do you plan it that way. I am sure it must be the latter lol . xx
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ March 3, 2021You’re right 🙂 We always agree in advance how much we’ll stitch for each stage.
