Tiny Treasures – Stage 8

Doesn’t time fly? We’re more than half way through January already! It’s time for another SAL update.

Tiny Treasures was designed by  Liz Almond  and the chart is a free download from Blackwork Journey. This is where I was up to last time.

Stage 7

Another four boxes and 5 flowers have been added.

Stage 8

I really like the basketwork box this time. There’s now only 4 more rows to stitch before our Happy Dance.

Please check out what everyone else has been up to by clicking their names below. We live all over the world so you may stitch. need to allow for time differences. Posting takes place every third Sunday, local time. Our next updates will be posted on the 7th February 2021.

About the SAL

Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.

I love watching your progress. It is fun to see each new set of pretty blocks and flowers.

  5. So pretty and elegant! I love that basketwork one too 🙂

  6. Gorgeous ~ this is like a kaleidoscope of amethyst jewels! 🙂

  7. Each block is so pretty. I do like the basket stitch block, but I couldn’t choose a favorite because I like them all!

  8. I love this it’s beautiful and the SAL sounds like fun. I’m enjoying looking at everyone’s work. 🙂

    • Welcome to my blog Linda 🙂 Yes, we’ve been going for several years now. It’s nice to see all the different projects isn’t it? The trouble is it’s sometimes too much inspiration and I want to make them all myself!

  9. The basket weave box really looks cool with the variegated thread. I love looking at these boxes each time!

  10. I love how different each of the boxes are and how you are stitching this up so steadily. 4 more sessions feels really soon!

I adore that pop of purple 💜

  12. I agree this project is huge! How many rows and boxes are there total? Amazing!

  13. You have made such good progress. I can’t wait to see it all done!

  14. It amazes me that although you and Claire are both stitching using the same chart, you works are both so different. Not just the colours but the patterns you have chosen too.

    • Claire is following the chart but I’ve changed a lot of the designs. At first it was because I didn’t think my thread choice was showing up very well but now I’m just changing things because I’m enjoying myself 🙂

  17. Seeing both yours and Claire´s embroidery, I know it will be hard to decide what colors to use once I start on mine 🙂 They are both lovely!!!!

  18. I’m really amazed at how much you have done – it will be good to see it unrolled and I love your colour version – there is so much intricate delicate looking stitches in this pattern.

    • Thank you Carmela 🙂 I’m still unable to comment on your blog so I’ll do it here….I love your new horses project. It’ll be a worthwhile challenge and I imagine it’ll take quite a long time to complete.
