Hi everyone,
Almost three months have gone by since I last showed you my progress on the purple blanket here. This is where I’m up to now.
I’ve just finished the 4th 100 gram ball of yarn so thought you might like to see it again. I will eventually make my pattern available to everyone but not until I’ve finished my own purple wonder. There would usually be no way I’d be able to knit this during the summer but our temperatures have only reached a maximum of 14 degrees C here until the last couple of days. Today we have a sizzling 17 degrees! I’m not complaining. I’ve got a lovely Aran weight blanket to sit under to keep me cosy while I knit.

/ June 20, 2016Holy cow! You’ve done heaps of work on it, and it’s looking amazing! It’s *almost* enough to make me want to knit… but not quite 🙂

/ June 20, 2016It is looking fabulous. I know what you mean about the temperatures I have been crocheting a granny style blanket and that too is lovely and warm on these chilly nights.

/ June 20, 2016We’ve got sunshine today but the wind is back! Where’s our summer?

Sewing Beside the Sea
/ June 20, 2016Thank you Carole. I’m having a lot of fun knitting it but I can’t hold a conversation at the same time LOL.
Julie
/ June 20, 2016Gorgeous, still! Going to start thinking about what yarn I would like to use to try your pattern out! How do you organize your WIPs I’m wondering?
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ June 20, 2016You’ve got plenty of time to choose 🙂 I don’t have many projects on the go at once. I try to limit myself to one per craft and I just pick up whichever one I fancy doing when I have time or the daylight is good enough. So here goes…I have two cross stitches, ABC Bears and Next To Go. The latter is a SAL project so I make sure I stitch a chunk of that to show here every three weeks. The ABC Bears are picked up when I need something easy and colourful and fairly quick to do. The purple blanket is my only knitting project at the moment and I don’t have any crochet on the go for now. Then there’s about a dozen patchwork quilt tops waiting to be quilted which will eventually appear on my other blog. I don’t consider those as WIPs. That’s it I think 🙂

/ June 25, 2016The variety of stitches and cables bring out the richness of the solid color! So very pretty!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ June 26, 2016Thank you 🙂 The weather has changed dramatically and we now have Summer at last. The blanket is going on hold again.

/ June 27, 2016That is what has happened to my blanket. With temps in the high 90s and even a bit above 100°F and more humidity this year than usual, I have had to set it aside. I am back to smaller projects and cross stitching which also needs some time. Hopefully my right elbow will also appreciate the change of projects. And here I was enjoying the 70s last week. Oh well!
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ June 28, 2016Yes, I’m sure I jinxed our weather by shouting about it as well. You could join our SAL for your cross stitch (or whatever other project you choose) if you wish.

/ June 28, 2016Thank you for the invitation. I have actually considered asking about it, but haven’t made up my mind. I do love the inspiration all the different members provide and would like to return the “favor” so may ask to join sometime soon. Right now I’m catching up from vacation and so many things have been put on on hold for just a bit.
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ June 28, 2016Whenever you are ready 😃.

/ June 28, 2016Gorgeous cables!!!! how much bigger will it get? I think I’m going to have to knit on bigger projects than little sweaters and socks.. we get one or two days of 20-24C and back down to breezy 16C and very dry here right now 😦
Sewing Beside the Sea
/ June 28, 2016I’ve only knitted four balls of yarn and I bought fourteen. I’ll just keep knitting until I think it’s about the right size to lie across the bottom of the bed maybe. I like the weather dictating my craft activities. It saves me choosing because otherwise I’d want to do them all at once 🙂

/ June 28, 2016OH MY Goodness , its going to be huge! and cables are so beautiful… You’ve got me thinking about the cable sweaters I want to make but i have a few small things to knit up first
