SAL Blocks 20 and 21 Completed

Good morning everyone,

Can you believe another three weeks have passed since the last SAL update? I can’t. It’s already officially Autumn in the northern hemisphere and the apples and berries are falling from the trees. I love the autumn when the colours outside change from every shade of green to rusty reds, orange and yellow. I’ve been looking at my SAL project and it’s full of the colours we are soon to have in the garden.

I’ve now completed block 20. It’s got a sort of twirly thing going on and, as usual, it’s nothing like the designer intended. The original chart is by Whispered by the Wind. Claire is doing the same design as me but in a different colourway.

Here it is with the other 19 blocks. This is the last time you’ll see the bottom row until the project is finished because I need to scroll the fabric around the frame and turn to stitch the final row.

Here’s block 21.

Now that the frame has been turned, the other row has disappeared off the top of the photo.

Only four blocks to go now 🙂

Don’t forget to pop over and see what all the other stitchers in the group are doing. There’s some lovely sewing going on. Just click on the names below to visit their blogs. Some will be updating later than others due to time differences.

Claire, Gun, Carole, Jule, Elizabeth, Wendy, LucyAnn, Kate, Cathy, Jess, Jacqui.

Our next update will be on 4th October. See you then!

  1. How beautifully apt that you’ll be finishing it in the autumn… The end is in sight at last. Claire won’t divulge what you’re going to work on next, so I suppose I must just be patient…. sigh.

  8. Your quilt piece is looking so amazing! It really looks fallish, too. Fall doesn’t officially arrive until next week here, but I can already see the leaves starting to change and the temps did take a dive last week. This week we will get back into the 80’s. Looking forward to seeing the last row of blocks on your quilt 🙂
